Facilities

PSI operates from its main facility in Bedford, MA just outside of Boston along with an engineering office in California.  The main facility houses engineering and administrative office, engineering development labs, prototype production, manufacturing, and final test areas. For higher volume manufacturing, PSI utilizes contract manufacturing firms and device foundry services as needed. PSI has manufactured hundreds of RF fiber optic links for microwave antenna remoting, defense and communications applications. Our business model is based on engineering solutions to our customer’s problems through application of unique RF photonic and electronic technologies.

Our state of the art laboratory facilities enable PSI to design, assemble, test and integrate RF subsystems, RF over fiber links, and components into advanced systems. Along with commercial software tools, proprietary PSI developed modeling programs can be used to estimate the performance of various approaches to implementing the required functions. PSI staff members are among the most experienced in the field of RF communications using fiber optics and are immediately ready to begin prototyping and measurements to support our customers’ design goals.

General RF, photonic and elctronic test equipment for measuring device and link performance is also on hand. This includes noise figure and intermodulation-free dynamic range test sets, spectrum analyzers – both RF and optical, RF network analyzers – both 2 port (up to 50 GHz) and 4 port (up to 20 GHz), lightwave network analyzers, RF probe station, fiber positioning equipment, oscilloscopes, signal generators, power supplies and power meters. PSI also has significant microwave antenna design and testing capability. This includes simulation packages as well as an in-house anechoic chamber.

PSI’s facilities are compliant with all Massachusetts and federal regulations. We are ITAR registered and DCAA compliant.
